COMPUTER DRIVE: Put those desktops and laptops you no longer need to good use. DONATE THEM at Digital Capital Week's 10-day iFestival. DROP LOCATION: Pull off into driveway at 900 Massachusetts Ave NW [new glass building], June 16-19 from 1-4pm COMPUTERS WILL GO TO: DC nonprofits First Time Computers and Byte Back. Youth trained by First Time Computers will refurbish them and provide them to low-income families. Byte Back provides free and low-cost computer classes to very low-income Washingtonians. Program graduates receive a free refurbished computer thanks to First Time Computers. PLEASE BRING: your not-too-old desktops and laptops [not more than 8 years old, unboxed], flat panel monitors, and associated gear usable by a low-income family on a small computer table at home. DO NOT bring: CRT monitors [the large glass-faced monitors], TVs, audio equipment, phones of any type, large printers [small working printers OK], faxes, scanners, or the manuals that came with your PC. No MACs. And, please, spare us of those large boxes. IMPORTANT: bring computers that can be re-used. This is not a materials recycling project. QUESTIONS? Call First Time Computes at 202-722-2822
